Hi folks, I’m looking for something quite specific. A person who plays keys/synth & also produces, who might be interested in collaborating on new material/developing some existing material for my original alternative/art-rock-pop project Tilley.
To elaborate: I’m a songwriter/vocalist (I play guitar & keys too) looking for a musical partner-in-crime who would play keys/synth in my live band, and also work with me on songwriting, and possibly some arrangement / production / recording. If they had some background in jazz (for good knowledge of chord substitutions & generally interesting harmonic ideas) that’d be great, but not essential.
This doesn’t have to be your priority project, all of my band have other stuff they’re involved with, but I love everyone to feel like they have some creative input into the project, and the person I’m looking for especially would play a larger part.
If you’re a keys//synth player & producer who enjoys writing and layering up cool shit in Ableton (well, it doesn’t HAVE to be Ableton, but that’s the DAW I’m playing around with the most), works best collaboratively, and you would find it beneficial to team up with a good songwriter & vocalist to create and gig together, let’s enhance each other’s musical world!
Especially if a lot of these names make you happy:
Sharon Van Etten, Jeff Buckley, Moses Sumney, Moreton, Nakhane, The General Assembly, Mazzy Star, Low, Damon Albarn, Radiohead, and Joni Mitchell (Hejira / Shadows & Light era.)
Other influences I’d like to start to draw on for new material include: Ngaiire, St Vincent, Kimbra, Florence & The Machine, Hozier… maybe Sia, Bjork, Fever Ray, Janelle Monae, Kate Bush, Aurora.
(Also my #1 of all time is Prince, but he influences my other project more than this one.)
My most recent release is here: https://tilleysong.bandcamp.com/
But live it comes out a little different, and I have some more rock/pop style tunes, and for upcoming recordings will be moving a few steps in the direction of commercial/pop style (but, know, I’ll probably always keep it a little weird.)
Some live videos with the band can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/tilleysong/videos
More info about me / the project can be found in the attached image.
PLEASE DON'T PM ME OR COMMENT HERE. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with some links to your work if you're interested, and I'll send through a link to the demos of the material I'm currently preparing to start working on.
If you have someone you'd recommend please feel free to let me know too!
