Over the next two weeks, members are invited to take part in our Fortnightly Challenge, creating a track based around 2 provided samples. You can find more info here.
Samples for this round have been provided by Beat Collective Community member @Chris Pehrson.
Chris Pehrson (Me In A Dream) has provided samples for this round!
Chris has provided us with two really cool samples this fortnight. The first sample is a Koto, which lives in a rehearsal space the he uses above a martial arts club. In the background you can just hear some sparring. The second one is a vocal snippet taken from his upcoming release!
We're also super excited to announce that this round we will be having rising electronic star Luboku coming along to leave feedback on all of the submissions!
Dubbed 'the next big thing in Australian electronic music', Luboku's hypnotic blend of
old-school house and experimental club cuts has been turning heads ever since he first burst
onto the scene with his 'surging, classy' debut, The Surface.
His versatility as a producer, songwriter and performer has seen him not only tour the East Coast of Australia performing his own headline shows but also share the stage with Willaris. K, Petit Biscuit and What So Not, deliver thumping festival sets at home and interstate - even climb the Shazam Top 100 and Spotify Viral 50.
Luboku’s futuristic and colourful dancefloor melodies are simultaneously melancholic as they are uplifting and present a versatile world of sound to lose yourself in. "If you were looking for
a local answer to Jon Hopkins then this one's for you" (Zan Rowe).
You can check out Luboku's most recent release, 'Forget' over on Spotify now!
